Start with Boom if you want to stay near the festival, Antwerp if you prefer a city hotel with a rail-based plan, or Brussels if an official shuttle or hotel package fits your trip. This is our practical comparison of the areas, not a ranking of individual properties. The best room is one you can get back to after the final set.
Tomorrowland Belgium takes place at De Schorre in Boom, between Antwerp and Brussels. The organiser's official transport guide is the starting point for matching your base to the festival journey. This guide covers Tomorrowland Belgium, rather than Tomorrowland Winter or another edition.
Planning a future edition? Confirm your festival weekend and admission before choosing hotel dates. The transport and package pages checked for this guide describe the latest published arrangements; they are not a guarantee of next year's timetable, prices or availability.
Compare the accommodation areas
| Base | Choose it when | Check before booking |
|---|---|---|
| Boom and the festival area | You want to minimise the journey beyond the festival grounds | The permitted route from the correct entrance to the exact property |
| Antwerp | A city hotel and a rail-based return suit your group | The special train plan and the final journey from Antwerpen-Centraal |
| Brussels | You want a city break or a package with organised transfers | The booked shuttle's pickup point, eligibility and departure window |
| Mechelen | You are comparing another base and can confirm the bus connection | Your edition's late return and the walk from the final stop |
| DreamVille | You want the official camping experience | The correct admission and accommodation package |
Boom: verify the real route before paying for proximity
A listing near De Schorre is worth investigating if returning to your room matters more than city sightseeing. Search the exact address, then ask the host which entrance and pedestrian route guests should use during the festival. A distance measured from the middle of the grounds will not answer that question.
For Boom and nearby Rumst, the organiser recommends cycling and describes staffed bicycle parking. If that is your plan, confirm a suitable bicycle, storage arrangements at the property and your ability to make the return journey. A property advertised as “near Tomorrowland” does not itself establish a walking route.
Compare a nearby room with a city option using the full stay total. Add planned transfers, parking if relevant and the value you place on a simpler return. Do not assume either area is always cheaper.
Antwerp: build the search around the return station
The published festival transport guidance describes extra night trains from Boom to Antwerpen-Centraal, with no onward connections to other cities. That makes the journey from the arrival station to your hotel an essential part of the shortlist. Check the SNCB/NMBS Tomorrowland page for your edition's ticket conditions and timetable.
Our recommendation is to start the accommodation search around Antwerpen-Centraal and widen it only after checking the late return. A hotel elsewhere in Antwerp may suit you better, but the city's name on a listing does not guarantee a straightforward final leg.
Save the property address, entry instructions and a backup route offline. If your accommodation has a limited reception window, arrange late entry directly before paying. Repeat the route check for Sunday; the final festival day and the following morning can create different travel requirements.
Brussels: match the hotel to the actual shuttle
Brussels can work well when you combine the festival with time in the city, but choose transport first. The organiser directs Brussels-based visitors to its Brussels shuttles. Record the departure point before selecting a room: being in Brussels is different from being convenient for your booked coach.
Global Journey hotel transfers and separately purchased festival shuttles are different products. Do not assume a room booked independently at a participating property gives you a seat on the package bus. The Global Journey transfer FAQ explains the published arrangements and notes that reaching the return bus parking involves a walk.
Check whether the departure window lets you arrive when you want, and what happens if you miss the return. If several people share a room, agree on a meeting point and whether everyone intends to leave together.
Independent hotels, Global Journey and DreamVille
An independent hotel booking buys the accommodation described by that provider. It does not automatically include a festival pass, camping access or event transport. This can suit visitors who already hold admission and prefer to arrange their stay themselves.
The official Global Journey hotel packages list accommodation in Brussels or Antwerp, breakfast, a Full Madness Pass and transfers among their inclusions. The page distinguishes Antwerp transfers by train from Brussels transfers by bus. Compare the complete package with the complete cost of an independent trip, including the admission you actually need.
DreamVille is the official camping option, accessed through a qualifying DreamVille or Global Journey package. The organiser says it cannot be bought separately or combined with a one-day ticket. Choose it for the camping experience and package inclusions, rather than treating it as an ordinary room-only alternative.
Before you reserve: six checks that matter
- Match the weekend. Put the admission date beside every hotel and transport reservation.
- Allow for check-in. A room may not be ready when your train or flight arrives; ask about luggage storage.
- Compare the complete price. Use the same dates, number of guests and cancellation conditions for each option.
- Read the cancellation deadline. Record the date, time zone, deposit and payment schedule shown at checkout.
- Confirm the return. Include the walk out of the festival, boarding, travel and the final route to the property.
- Plan departure morning. Leave enough room for checkout and the journey to your airport or intercity train.
Compare live accommodation by area and date once your weekend is confirmed. Start with two workable bases, then choose using the total cost and the return journey, rather than a headline room rate.
Frequently asked questions
Is it better to stay in Antwerp or Brussels for Tomorrowland?
Antwerp suits a rail-based plan, especially with a hotel you can reach from Antwerpen-Centraal after the festival. Brussels can suit a city break or an organised bus transfer. Compare your edition's confirmed return arrangements and the final journey to your exact property.
Does an independently booked hotel include Tomorrowland tickets or shuttles?
Do not assume so. A room-only reservation covers the accommodation described by the provider. Festival admission and organised transfers must be included explicitly or arranged separately.
Can I walk from a hotel in Boom to Tomorrowland?
That depends on the property's exact address, the entrance you need and the permitted event-day route. Ask the host and check official access guidance; straight-line map distance is not a walking route.
Should I use last year's dates to book next year's hotel?
No. Confirm the official dates for your edition and the weekend on your admission before booking. An earlier edition's dates, shuttle hours and train arrangements are not confirmation of a future programme.
