Data Collection & Core Philosophy
WalkTheVenue is designed to be as non-invasive as possible. We do not require account creation, and we do not collect personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email, or physical address to use our core search features.
Local Storage & Preferences
To enhance your experience, we use your browser's localStorage to remember simple, non-identifying preferences:
- Your preferred measurement system (Metric vs. Imperial)
- Your preferred currency for the interactive map
- Your analytics choice and, if selected separately, permission to load Stay22 maps
These saved choices stay in your browser. Your selected currency is also sent to Stay22 when its accommodation map loads so the map can display matching prices.
Cookies & Analytics
With your permission, we use Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregated usage such as popular pages, affiliate-link placements and routing errors. You can decline optional analytics or change your choice at any time through the Cookie Settings link in the footer.
Approximate Location
Our hosting provider may infer your country and city from standard request information to suggest a local currency and nearby search context. WalkTheVenue stores only a short-lived city and currency preference cookie; it does not store precise latitude or longitude from that lookup. If you choose the optional “How far am I?” feature, your browser calculates a straight-line distance and does not send that precise location to WalkTheVenue.
Third-Party Partners
Stay22 maps are not loaded until you accept optional services or choose “Load live map” on a map panel. Loading a map or following a partner link connects your browser to that third party. The partner may receive standard request information such as your IP address, page referrer, selected currency, travel dates and map area, and may use its own storage for session continuity and booking attribution.
We encourage you to review the specific Privacy Policies of Stay22, Booking.com, and SeatGeek when utilizing their specific checkout flows.
